Privacy Management (GDPR)

AlwaysLocal has been designed and built to comply with the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This is due to come into force on 25th May 2018. It will be implemented and policed to enable individuals to have more control over their data.

For larger companies and public authorities, data protection officers must be appointed. However, AlwaysLocal is too small for such an appointment (early drafts of the regulation suggested organisations of 250 people or more appoint an officer). However, all personnel working on AlwaysLocal are introduced to the key aspects of this regulation, and educated as to how this must be applied to AlwaysLocal code, procedures and communication at all times.

AlwaysLocal, in line with the GDPR, has customer privacy at the heart of its business model. We charge for our services. We therefore do not sell your data or advertise in order to maintain our business. We focus on protecting user's rights and have built data protection safeguards into into our products and services from the earliest stage of development.
